Each player begins the game with two archers. One starts between the king’s cavalry and the king, the other between the general’s cavalry and the general. The archer has no restrictions in distance for each move, provided its’ path is unobstructed, but is limited to diagonal movement. Archers, like all other pieces except the cavalry, cannot jump over other pieces. An archer attacks by entering the field along its unobstructed line-of-travel on which an enemy piece sits.
